I found it very distractive! IM or instant messaging has become part of my life. I use it when I breakfast, wake up in the morning, in the office, studying and even when I sleep. That’s the problem, since this IM is very distractive like I said before, my performance in works getting worse. I have 9 certifications test this year, I already passed two, and I have to take it three times each. Lots of my friends passed it in one shot. Oh my, I feel like I never put hard works in everything I do.
On the other side, I feel blogging is good for me. First, I want to be a great writer someday. Blogging activity gives me chance to think and deliver good article. Second, blog walking makes me know what and how people thinking. I know what are their dreams, what they like, and yet, it gives me a lot of knowledge.
So, good bye IM and go blogging!

yes, I agree with you. Turn off your IM/YM, and study. I suggest you also to leverage your Blog to keep some technical material that related to your study (i.e. tips on configuring multihoming BGP etc.). Not only it's useful for you, but also for the rest of us in the networking world :D
Setuju bro... Dulu di kantor saya, desktopnya ga ada internet, dan saya ngerasa produktif banget. Ga kaya sekarang, ngerjain schoolwork di depan komputer + internet, dikit2 tergoda browsing + chatting... :-(
